Nelson Mandela’s battle for freedom sprang from a deeply felt desire to improve the lives of his fellow men and women. In this connection, the education of young people was particularly dear to his heart. “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” Nelson Mandela once said. By helping construct the Mandela School of Science & Technology in Nelson Mandela’s hometown of Mvezo, Siemens is supporting this vision. The school will open in January and serve as a symbol that the spirit of Madibas’ lifework lives on.

With a capacity for up to 700 students, the school will make an important contribution to improving the educational and professional opportunities of future generations.
