South African Airways advises customers of extra flight to East London

South-African-Airways-300x136South African Airways (SAA) advises customers that it has increased capacity on the route between Johannesburg and East London due to increased demand on this route.

The deployment of an additional flight on Saturday, 14 June, is over and above the airline’s existing frequencies to East London, and is intended to assist passengers who would like to travel to the Eastern Cape to attend the funeral service of the late Mrs Epainette Mbeki (commonly referred to as MaMbeki), the mother of former state president Thabo Mbeki.

This will be a commercially operated flight in accordance with the normal conditions of carriage by SAA.

The additional flight, SA3473, will depart on 14 June from Johannesburg at 05h30, to land at 07h00 in East London.

SA3478 will return at 18h00 from East London, to arrive at 19h30 in Johannesburg. The additional flight will be operated by an A319 with 25 seats in Business Class and 95 seats in Economy Class.

Mrs Epainette Mbeki died at the age of 98 and the entire SAA Group extends its heartfelt condolences to former president Mbeki and his family.
