Edo Friart, International Development Director of Volotea says “We are glad to announce the start of our operations in Southampton, our first UK airport, from where we will be taking our passengers to the beautiful island of Majorca. We strongly believe in the success of this route that will allow more and more people to travel with direct, affordable and convenient flights with Volotea”.

Dave Lees, Managing Director of Southampton Airport, said: “We are delighted to be the first UK airport to provide a scheduled service with Volotea. The flights to Palma are excellent news for people looking for independent holidays, those with second homes in Majorca, and anyone joining yachts or cruise ships in the Mediterranean. Welcome to the UK, Volotea!”
Majorca is the largest island of the Balearic Islands and welcomes millions of tourists each year. It is ideally placed within the Mediterranean Sea and is a world renowned summer holiday destination due to its sunny weather and vast sandy beaches. There are many fantastic sights to see such as the magnificent Gothic cathedral in the centre of the cultural city of Palma as well as several historical old towns and villages that lie below the peaks of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. The mountain ranges are also becoming increasingly popular with hikers, cyclists and climbers, who are looking for some adventure as well as a beach holiday.
