download14Agents of South African travel, participating in Challenge Mascarun 2014, lived their ultimate challenge last Thursday, September 11. From adventures to challenges, adventurers gave the best of themselves in order to claim the final podium.

The time for deliberation and time results have come: and the winner is…
Stand-up paddling, sea kayaking, snorkeling, recumbent bike, Segway, design a cocktail, 4×4 trails, flying over the island by helicopter, discovery of coffee and vanilla, convenient and Sega Maloya, treasure hunting discovery of vanilla and traditional cuisine… agents of South African travel competed in multiple sports and cultural challenges that made them live a journey of emotions on Reunion Island.
From lunchtime, the Vacoa teams Takamaka Mafate Bélouve, Furnace, Cilaos, Salazie and Maloya gathered at Lux Island of Reunion for the announcement of the final results and the award ceremony of the 2014 Challenge Mascarun Special South Africa.

The sun was directly overhead, and the fresh fruit cocktails were waiting as the public became increasingly anxious! It was time for the guide, Nicolas Cyprien, to take the microphone and invite Ariane Loupy, Director of Reunion Island Tourism (IRT), to end the adventure.

After congratulating the involvement of each South African professional who came to discover Reunion Island, she recalled that beyond being experts and now sellers of the destination, they are first and foremost ambassadors in their own right.

Partners, Lux Island of Reunion and Air Austral, also spoke before the awards ceremony.
In an almost unbearable suspense for challengers, Nicolas Cyprien announced the results of the competition.

It was on a very tight score that Jenna Berndt, Johnathan Hollard, and Tamarin Seymour of the Mafate team clinched the top spot of the 2014 Mascarun.

A few points of differences behind them was the team that won the second Bélouve square in front of the Cilaos team that finished off the podium.

The winners were each awarded a ticket for the Mega Mascarun that brought together over 200 international travel agents in June 2015.
