TAM Airlines’ Red and Black Frequent Flyer Card holders are being offered a special promotion which will allow them to maintain their Star Alliance Gold status following the airline’s exit from Star Alliance. In order to participate, customers simply select one of the following nine Frequent Flyer Programmes (FFPs):

EuroBonus® (Scandinavian Airlines)
MileagePlus® (United, Copa Airlines)
Miles & Smiles® (Turkish Airlines)
PhoenixMiles® (Air China)
SA Voyager® (South African Airways)
ShebaMiles® (Ethiopian Airlines)
Victoria® (TAP Portugal)
This promotion will run from today through to May 30th, 2014 (12.00 GMT).
With 12 Star Alliance carriers flying to Brazil, Star Alliance has more airlines serving Latin America’s largest aviation market than other alliance. Customers can opt to travel on the Star Alliance network from 11 airports in Brazil, from which our member airlines offer direct services to destinations in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
By connecting through Star Alliance hubs in these regions, passengers gain access to the worldwide network provided by the 26 member airlines that in total offer more than 18,000 daily flights to 1,269 airports in 193 countries.
Making use of their Star Alliance Gold status, customers will be offered the following enhanced benefits during their travels
Priority Airport Check-in
Star Alliance Gold members can make use of dedicatedcheck-in desks.
Priority Reservations Waitlist
Star Alliance Gold members receive priority waitlisting if the desired flight is already fully booked.
Priority Boarding
Star Alliance Gold members can enjoy the freedom of boarding at their own convenience along with First and Business Class passengers.
Priority Airport Standby
Star Alliance Gold members receive priority standby listing if they arrive at the airport without any reservation for a specific flight (subject to local regulations).
Airport Lounge Access
Star Alliance Gold members have access to more than 1,000 lounges at airports around the world for themselves and one guest.
Priority Baggage Handling
Star Alliance Gold members are entitled to priority baggage service across the network.
