Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) today issued the following statement from President and CEO Christine Duffy on the Senate confirmation of Jeh Johnson as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security:
“CLIA commends the U.S. Senate for confirming Jeh Johnson as Secretary of Homeland Security, a critical position for making travel to and from the U.S. safe and secure for millions of people each year.
“Johnson brings a wealth of experience to the position, as a highly respected member of the legal community and as General Counsel of the Department of Defense from 2009 to 2012.
“Under Secretary Johnson’s leadership, CLIA member lines look forward to the continued strong and collaborative relationships with the Department and its agencies, including the United States Coast Guard and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.”
