As part of Eirgrid 25 – A Strategy for the Development of Ireland’s Electricity Grid for a Sustainable and Competitive Future, a number of regional electricity transmission schemes are currently being planned around the country by Eirgrid in order to improve and update the existing grid network.
The closing date for submissions by interested parties to Eirgrid with regard to their proposed GridLink which links Leinster and Munster was Tuesday, 7th January. As a prescribed body in the planning process, one of the main objectives of Fáilte Ireland is to advocate for the protection of key tourism assets and amenities.
