An international convoy was attacked by suicide bombers near the Kabul international airport. However there were no reports of causalities .
The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) confirmed the attacks near a sprawling heavily guarded facility used by civilians and the military. An ISAF spokeswoman Lieutenant Colonel Latondra Kinley confirmed the news.
The blast was a result of an insurgent attack said the deputy police chief of Kabul and assured that there were no causalities.
The airport is home to one of the NATO-led command’s most important bases, the ISAF Joint Command, which is responsible for the day-to-day management of foreign troop operations in Afghanistan.
Attacks on the heavily guarded airport are relatively rare and the facility represents an ambitious target for insurgents.
The bomb was planted on a four wheeler on the edge of the airport Twitted the Afghan deputy interior minister.
