A super luxury train designed by Yamagata-born Ken Okuyama, a well known automobile designer is a slick Cruise train that will hit the Japanese tracks in 2017.
The super luxurious cruise train has a capacity of 34 passengers. There will be ten carriages made up of five suits, a deluxe suite. Two glass walled observation cars and of course a lounge and a dining car.
With a huge experience of working with General Motors as chief designers, senior designer for Porsche AG and design director for Pininfarina, the company behind the Ferrari Enzo and Maserati Quattroporte for Okuyama this was a dream car to create.
The train will allow the passengers to enjoy the flow of time and space and help them understand and appreciate the beautiful landscapes of Japan.
The added observation package will help catch the best view when the train moves and is strategically placed right at the front of the train.
The train’s furniture will reflect the ambiance and culture of Japanese culture. The lounge will display the fine taste of Japanese decor with graceful furniture blended harmoniously with trees.
Every suite will have its private bathroom, shower and toilet and top sleeping spaces will sleep four in the split level deluxe suite.
The bottom part will have two double beds, a Japanese traditional dining area on the top with seating on the floor.
The train can run both in electric and non- electric rails.
A lottery will be conducted to select passengers.
