SAFARI-LODGE-SERENGETIStep into the heart of the wilderness on a new Walking Safari from Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti that allows guests to get up close and personal with the earthly secrets of the world-renowned Serengeti National Park.

 

Led by the Lodge’s Resident Naturalist and escorted by Maasai guides and national park rangers, guests are able to explore the treasures of nature step by step, with their expert guides highlighting fresh animal tracks, distinctive insects and traditional uses for indigenous plants.
 
Covering an area that is known for regular activity of elephant, giraffe and warthog activity as well as a variety of nocturnal creatures, the 90-minute Walking Safari also incorporates the latest surveillance technology, with guests learning how to position and collect data from a “camera trap” that digitally records any animal visitors to the area. Available as an afternoon activity, guests may also choose to combine the Walking Safari with a sundowner cocktail to enjoy the view of a spectacular African sunset in a fully immersive safari experience.
 
Back at the Lodge, guests are able to join the Resident Naturalist in the Lodge’s Discovery Centre – East Africa’s first interactive and educational research platform, to review the captured “camera trap” data, from which they may select their favourite images to take away on a personalized USB.

 

Requiring 48 hours advance notice and pending weather conditions, the Walking Safari is available to a minimum of two and maximum of six people at a time, at a starting price of USD 200.00 per person for a shared experience (inclusion in a group of up to five people), and from USD 1,000.00 for a private experience. An age restriction of 16 years applies to the Walking Safari.
