Tampa-Bay-logo (1)A Decent Proposal – Tampa Bay is home to numerous unique settings to pop the question.

Take the plunge among the Florida Aquarium’s 20,000 sea creatures; give your best pitch at Steinbrenner Field, spring training home of the New York Yankees; take a knee at the proposing bench on the Tampa Riverwalk; or steal the show at the fully restored Tampa Theatre in historic downtown. Just don’t forget the ring.

The Greater Outdoors – Discover plenty of ways to enjoy some of Florida’s most breathtaking natural scenery and intriguing native wildlife. Canoe, kayak, paddleboard, pull crab traps, walk among large and endangered cats, soar in a hot air balloon, pick strawberries or visit manatees in their natural habitat.

Trolley Town – Electric streetcars shuttled passengers around Tampa from 1892 until 1946.

Today, historic streetcars buzz around Tampa’s convention district, connecting downtown to the Channel District with its eclectic entertainment and dining mix, The Florida Aquarium, the Port of Tampa and historic Ybor City.

Full Menu – As a culinary hotspot, Tampa Bay is as diverse as the cultures that settled here, where the focus is on the food and the experience. At Bern’s Steak House, for example, a cut-to-order steak comes with a 65-page dessert menu, the world’s largest wine collection and a personal tour of the kitchen and wine cellar.

Downtown Tampa boasts wonderful waterfront dining options, and the area claims a number of restaurant firsts, including the newest addition, the annual DINE Tampa Bay Restaurant Week in August.

From comfort foods as well as more adventurous, experimental options, Tampa Bay provides a culinary experience.

Rising Waterfront – Once lined with warehouses, banana docks and parking lots, Tampa Bay’s downtown waterfront has reemerged as a vibrant entertainment district complete with attractions, hotels, restaurants, convention center and port with five active cruise ships.

The latest addition is the Tampa Riverwalk, a boardwalk evolving to become an uninterrupted pedestrian-friendly pathway along the downtown Tampa waterfront.
Historic Ybor City – Tampa’s Ybor City is one of just three National Historic Landmark Districts in Florida.

Once called the Cigar Capital of the World, the Latin Quarter is where 12,000 master tabaqueros hand-rolled 500 million cigars a year at the neighborhood’s peak. Italians, Cubans, Spaniards and Germans made their way to Tampa to work in the cigar factories, creating a dazzling “cultural collage” of a community.

Wandering brick streets lined with wrought iron balconies and historic five-globe street lamps, visitors are greeted with the taste of Cuban bread and Spanish paella, the sound of flamenco music, and the aroma of hand-rolled cigars and freshly brewed café con leche.

Sports Fan’s Town – When it comes to professional, collegiate, amateur and recreational sports, Tampa Bay is a winner. A dream come true for athletes and fans alike, the city is home to Raymond James Stadium, the Tampa Bay Times Forum, and George M. Steinbrenner Field, as well as nearly 90 golf courses and world-class tennis facilities. Go, teams!

Takeover Tampa Bay – This is one destination that knows how to put on a convention! Sure, pirate invasions and citywide celebrations are a part of the culture in this waterfront city, but you’ll also find first-class accommodations, unique venues, delicious cuisine, rich heritage and plenty of only-in-Tampa-Bay ways to unwind when the meeting day is over.

Latest and Greatest – From new hotels and meeting sites to new exhibits and theme park expansions, Tampa Bay is buzzing with activity.

Some latest and greatest additions include the culinary-themed Epicurean Hotel, the New World of Chima exhibit at LEGOLAND®, the revitalized 1920s Floridian Hotel, Madagascar Live at Busch Gardens, Stingray Beach at the Florida Aquarium, Falcon’s Fury at Busch Gardens (late Spring 2014), and The Vault historic and sophisticated meeting space in Tampa’s Downtown Art District.

In the Family Way – Tampa Bay is busting with family-friendly fun for moms, dads and kids of all ages.

Some hot spots include Busch Gardens, The Florida Aquarium, Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI), Glazer Children’s Museum, Tampa Bay History Center, Dinosaur World and the Lowry Park Zoo.
