For the first time in its history, the Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism is going to visit Tampa Bay.
Visit Tampa Bay President and CEO Santiago Corrada announced this week that the 48th annual gathering of Florida’s tourism industry will meet in Tampa August 31 to September 2, 2015.
“Tampa and Hillsborough County have been on a winning streak lately,” Corrada said. “We’re excited to host next year’s conference for the first time and show our colleagues all the treasures they can unlock in Tampa Bay.
From cultural events and venues to culinary gems to professional sports and fine accommodations with superior customer service, Tampa Bay is the place to visit.”
Corrada made his announcement at the closing of this year’s conference, in Boca Raton.
Nearly 1,000 attendees made their way to Boca Raton for the three-day event, which focused on moving beyond Gov.
Rick Scott’s current goal of bringing 100 million visitors to Florida each year.
