SCO_694_aspect16x9-300x168Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North welcomes Kistler Winery to Talavera for a special one night only dining event on Friday, March 21, 2014. As part of the Taste Talavera wine dinners, Executive Chef Mel Mecinas is partnering with Kistler Winery to offer a four-course menu thoughtfully paired with a wine for each course.

“We are excited for guests to revel in the flavours that Chef Mel has created, which are perfectly matched by Kistler Winery’s exceptional wines,” says Director of Food & Beverage Bryan Feigenbaum. “The evening’s tantalizing menu will stimulate palates during this culinary experience.”

The Kistler Wine Dinner will begin with a taste of the sea, featuring scallops, oysters, and caviar paired with Noisetiers Chardonnay followed by halibut and risotto with McCrea Chardonnay. The main course offers diners a choice of coffee-rubbed ostrich loin or a poached Maine lobster complemented by Kistler’s signature Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. To end on a sweet note, Pastry Chef Lance Whipple features the delectable flavours of strawberry and cream paired with the Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. The four-course wine dinner costs USD 110.00 per person and will be the only menu offered at Talavera this evening.

Kistler Vineyards is a small, family established and privately owned and operated winery dedicated to the vinification of world class chardonnay and pinot noir using old world Burgundian techniques applied to their new world vineyards. The Kistler family founded the vineyards in Sebastopol, California in 1978. The first vintage in 1979 produced 3,500 cases of wine and since then, the winery has slowly grown to the planned production level of about 25,000 cases per year.
