This new access point will lead into the temporary booking office, where customers will be able to purchase tickets from members of staff or ticket vending machines.
The new station complex, which will replace the existing Dundee station, will also include a hotel, as well as retail, food and office outlets.
Construction work on temporary station facilities is now complete, and it is hoped that work on the new station building will commence in late 2013with the new station scheduled to open in summer 2016.
Stewart MacVicar, ScotRail’s head of projects, said: “We’re delighted that Dundee station will play a central role within the overall Waterfront project.
“We have been working with Dundee City Council and Network Rail to limit the impact of the redevelopment work on our customers.
“Once open, the new station building will be an accessible and welcoming space for anyone coming into Dundee.”
Station signs and posters will alert customers to the change in layout when entering the station from the street or after travelling by train.
There will be no changes to the train timetable as a result of the works.
