Ten killed in 5 Star Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli due to terror attacks

Corinthia-Hotel-in-Tripoli-2Tourists staying at the luxurious Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli, Libya were caught unaware when sudden attack on the hotel killed 10 people. Two attackers were also killed.

 

An American, French and three others people from Tajikistan were killed in the attack.

 

The attackers are said to be Libyans.

An online group that supports the ISIS said that the attack was carried out by Abu Anas al-Libi.

There had been a hostage situation in the hotel said a hotel spokesperson.

 

The hotel owners are still not aware of the damages that have been caused in the hotel property by the attacks.

A car bomb was detonated in the parking lot and the gunman went inside the hotel. The guests were however evacuated to safety. They were asked to stay away till the time the gunfire continued.

 

This hotel is popular among government officials and has a 5 star status.
