Destination El Paso announced last week, the Texas Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus has nominated El Paso as the site of its annual conference in August 2016. The association’s annual conference is for convention and tourism professionals from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. The group had its 2013 conference in El Paso.
General Manager of Destination El Paso, the city’s convention and tourism bureau, Bryan Crowe, said, “Destination El Paso is ecstatic” that the state association “will return to El Paso and see how much our city will have changed in the last three years.”
Destination El Paso also declared last week that its spring familiarization tour for site consultants and tourism writers gained three awards in the state group’s annual Idea Fair competition. Its pop-up card showing the changing Downtown, and its use of social media for local awareness won awards.
