76-300x180Top Thai tourism officials, including H.E. Mrs Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, the Minister of Tourism and Sports, and Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently visited Hua-Hin in the wake of the recent bomb attacks that have shaken Thailand.

The officials rushed to the popular seaside resort on 12 August with the aim of seeing first-hand the scene of the atrocities and to show solidarity with the local people and tourists who were injured in the attacks that took place on Thursday night and on Friday morning. They also paid a visit to Hua-Hin’s San Paulo Hua Hin Hospital where the majority of the victims are being treated.

Some 30 people were injured in the explosions in the nightlife area of Soi Bintabat, and near the town clock tower, ten of them foreigners. The hospital visits by the Minister of Tourism and Sports and the TAT Governor helped to reassure all victims of the attacks that everything possible is being done to find the criminals behind the blasts and to show that Thailand and the Thai people will remain resilient in the face any attacks on innocent people.
