With the commencement of Dubai Summer Surprises, The Dubai Mall has prepared a number of amazing surprises that has heightened the city’s festive spirit. One of the most enchanting additions to the DSS 2014 line-up of events and activities is the live Hello Kitty Show that runs at the mall until 3 August 2014.
Hello Kitty and her friends have been enthralling a large number of kids and their parents visiting the mall with a great song-and-dance performance live on stage. In fact, the costumed Hello Kitty team has left every member of the audience feeling all charged up after they took time off from their shopping sprees at The Dubai Mall, to catch their favourite cat in action. Children gathered around the stage to cheer for their favourite character and her pals during the 25-minute shows.
Lebanese national, Dubai-based Mohammad Sabbouh, who watched the show with his son Omar, said: “This kind of entertainment creates a lively environment. It makes the mall more festive, and it gives the guests the opportunity to avail themselves of different experiences other than shopping and dining”.
Meanwhile, Emirati Ali Al Awar, who watched the Hello Kitty show with daughter Mahra, said: “I like taking my kid to this kind of shows. She enjoys it a lot. The music and the dances are wonderful – they add to the bustling vibe of the mall. I feel that something special is happening whenever I see shows like this one, so I really think it’s great.”
Excited and delighted were friends Gela Baser and Yssa Linton, both Filipino. “Hello Kitty is such a cute character. I have been liking her since I was little, and until now I have a collection of Hello Kitty stuff. So, it is really wonderful to find this show here in The Dubai Mall,” said Gela while Yssa added: “I love Hello Kitty and I love The Dubai Mall. There is nothing else I could ask for at this time of the year.”
The 17th edition of DSS, which is organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), commenced on 2 August and will run until 5 September, under the theme, ‘The Fun Side of Summer’.
