Members of the staff of the Seychelles Tourism Board who will now form part of the Department of Tourism within the Ministry of Tourism and Culture last week met for a meeting with PS Anne Lafortune, the PS for Tourism in the presence of Minister Alain St.Ange and Sherin Naiken, the CEO of the Tourism Board.
The meeting took place at the Tourism Board Bel Ombre Offices and it was the opportunity for the Government to assure the staff affected by the reorganisation to be reassured that they position was guaranteed within the Department of Tourism.
The recently announced reorganisation of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture will see the Seychelles Tourism Board concentrating only on the Marketing of Seychelles. “Marketing Department Staff and all of the Board’s Overseas Offices will be the revamped Seychelles Tourism Board with Ms Sherin Naiken as the Board’s CEO. Their area of concentration is to market Seychelles. Tourism remains the pillar of the Seychelles economy and we need to ensure that the marketing of our destination is able to move fast, to react fast and to be able to focus on keeping Seychelles visible in the four corners of the world” Minister St.Ange said.
Also present at the staff meeting alongside CEO Sherin Naiken were Nathalie Didon, the Board’s Deputy CEO, Jean-Francois Adeline, the Financial Controller and Jenifer Sinon, the Director of Administration.
PS Lafortune takes over all the Departments responsible for Administration, Policy, Inspectorates etc.
The meeting was the opportunity for Staff to be briefed on any administration issues.
