pic-1-ITALIAN-JOURNALISTS-VISIT-WALLED-GARDEN-GLENARMA group of top journalists from Italy has been visiting Belfast and Northern Ireland this week, as guests of Tourism Ireland. The journalists – whose publications have a combined circulation of more than two million readers – travelled on the new Ryanair flight from Milan Bergamo to Belfast International Airport – which began earlier this month.

As well as highlighting the new ease of access between Milan and Belfast, the visit is also a wonderful opportunity to showcase Northern Ireland to potential Italian holidaymakers.

Niamh Kinsella, Tourism Ireland Italy, said:
“The new Ryanair service is really good news for tourism to Northern Ireland. and will help to boost both leisure and business travel from Italy. Tourism Ireland is committed to working with Ryanair, Belfast International Airport and other tourism partners, through co-operative marketing, to drive demand for this new service, as well as working with other carriers and partners to promote and help maintain vital routes and services to Northern Ireland.

“Tourism Ireland is delighted to invite these journalists to visit Northern Ireland, to experience our superb tourism offering for themselves. Publicity is an important element of our overall promotional programme, helping to raise awareness through the media of the many things to do and see here.

As well as enjoying a tour of Belfast’s many visitor attractions such as Titanic Belfast, the group explored the Causeway Coastal Route and visited the Giant’s Causeway, as well as stopping off en route at the Walled Garden at Glenarm Castle, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge and the Old Bushmills Distillery. The journalists’ itinerary was designed by Tourism NI.
