Tourism Ireland warmly welcomes the announcement by Aer Lingus Regional, operated by Aer Arann, of the expansion of its services to Cork Airport – with the addition of 50,000 seats, including a new flight from Newcastle four times a week and expanded services on existing routes from Manchester and Bristol.
Aer Lingus Regional flights from Rennes to Cork will also increase, from April of next year. Working closely with airlines to build demand for routes is a key priority for Tourism Ireland and these services will certainly provide a welcome boost for tourism from the important British market to Cork and the South of Ireland.
Niall Gibbons, chief executive of Tourism Ireland, said: “The expansion by Aer Lingus Regional of its services to Cork is wonderful news and will increase travel options for British holiday and business visitors to Cork and the South of Ireland in 2014. We look forward to working closely with Aer Lingus Regional and Cork Airport to maximise the promotion of the routes and to help drive demand for the flights.
