Tourism-IrelandTourism Ireland warmly welcomes today’s announcement by Ryanair of a new, daily flight from Copenhagen to Dublin, which will help boost both leisure and business tourism from Denmark and southern Sweden.

The new service begins on 18 March.

Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland, said: “Today’s announcement is more good news for Irish tourism this year.

We already work very closely with Ryanair and we look forward to co-operating with them to maximise the promotion of this new service from Copenhagen to Dublin.

As an island, the importance of convenient, direct, non-stop flights cannot be overstated – they are absolutely critical to achieving growth in visitor numbers.

“In 2014, we saw growth of +11% in visitor numbers from Denmark to Ireland; and Tourism Ireland is determined to ensure that success continues.

More flights expand travel options for holidaymakers and Tourism Ireland is committed to working with Ryanair, Dublin Airport and other tourism partners, through co-operative marketing, to maximise the promotion of this new flight in Scandinavia.”
