Western Australia (WA) is developing a reputation as a world-class food and wine destination, with its bounty of gourmet produce, fresh seafood and premium wines and beverages.
With a landscape and climate as varied as WA, a vast range of produce is available – from Albany oysters and Manjimup black truffles to Pemberton’s marron and Swan Valley’s speciality fortified’s. A bountiful variety of premium WA produce is available in Singapore at various retail outlets, restaurants and bars.
In conjunction with the Margaret River Gourmet Escape, a three-day gourmet food&wine festival, showcasing the extraordinary produce and beauty of the region, Tourism Western Australia (TWA) is launching a WA Gourmet Campaign with key partners.
“The multifarious culinary attractions of WA lend themselves well to visitors from Singapore who favour self-drive tours of the State at their own pace. Self-drive allows them time to soak in the sights at their own leisure and enjoy the experience of visiting the producers of these delectables; indulging or purchasing them at the same time ,” remarked Ms Lee Ee Lian, Senior Consultant – Strategic Planning & Marketing
She adds, ”This is the first time Tourism Western Australia is working with a consortium of travel agents and retail partners to push the culinary experiences of Western Australia in a concerted effort. We are also pleased to have Chef Isaac Tan of Bedrock Bar&Grill and Chef Wan, Malaysia’s culinary ambassador involved in these packages.”
