shangri laTraders Hotel Puteri Harbour, Johor rebranded as Hotel Jen Puteri Harbour, Johor, becoming the tenth hotel to adopt the new Hotel Jen brand by Shangri-La International Hotel Management Ltd.  Catering to a new “Jeneration” of independently minded business and leisure travellers, the brand has quickly launched ten hotels in seven months in nine cities in Asia Pacific.

Puteri Harbour lies within Iskandar Malaysia, the new southern development corridor in Johor identified as one of the key developments to spur the growth of the Malaysian economy. The launch today of Hotel Jen Puteri Harbour, Johor highlights Shangri-La’s long-term commitment to the Malaysia market.

The Hotel Jen brand is inspired by virtual persona Jen, a professional hotelier who loves life, travel and the adventure of discovering new places. Hotel Jen takes care of guests with efficiency and care while giving them informed access to the best a destination has to offer. Hotel Jen provides travellers greater flexibility to blend the boundaries between business and leisure.

Mr. Greg Dogan, president and CEO of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, said: “The opening of Hotel Jen Puteri Harbour, Johor is extremely important for our organisation. We’ve built a strong brand presence in Malaysia and will continue to grow and build solid long-term associations with our business partners and stakeholders.

“We recognise the growth of travellers with a ‘millennial’ mindset who seek simple pleasures, easy efficiencies and the opportunity to indulge their sense of adventure when travelling for leisure or business. True to the new brand, the Hotel Jen Puteri Harbour team embraces the changing demands of today’s more independently minded travellers and we are proud to introduce the Hotel Jen brand to meet the needs of our existing and new customers.”

Mr. Sigi Bierbaumer, general manager of Hotel Jen Puteri Harbour, added: “The rebrand to Hotel Jen will set new standards for guest experiences, which shows in the changing demands of today’s customers, both the new and ‘millennial’ mindset and the increasingly socially enabled ‘young-at-heart’ existing customer. It is a revolution and all about changing our approach, starting at the very heart of our hotel – our staff.

“The first thing guests will notice as they enter the hotel is less-formal staff uniforms. An informed and friendly service style continues by allowing guests to discover the best of where they are through unique recommendations, from the theme park experiences and attractions to bars and restaurants in town. The Hotel Jen team will be a guest’s own personal local lifestyle guide, making them truly feel like they are staying with a friend.”

Embracing the concept of ‘staying with a friend’, guests will notice the extra touches on the in-room and restaurant dining options, which feature fresh local products selected for flavour, fusion and fun. For added convenience, the hotel features a vending machine with beverage and snack items priced at convenience-store levels and a ‘Grab&Go’ deli counter offering quick meal solutions.

Cutting-edge technology is also key to catering to the highly social, young-at-heart traveller. Free WiFi everywhere, all the time, and convenient mobile charging stations throughout the hotel and a PressReader app with free access to 2,500 online publications, replacing the traditional morning newspaper, are some of the many features on offer at Hotel Jen Puteri Harbour, Johor. In addition, simple pleasures, such as a laundry wash-and-fold service for unlimited items in the laundry bag at one price, complimentary fruit-infused waters and signature iced teas in summer and free coffee and snack-box-to-go options after breakfast allow guests to get on with the things they care about most – life, travel and discovery.

The SkyBar, Bar & Restaurant beside the infinity pool overlooks the harbour, providing a spectacular view of the Johor straits through to Singapore.

Guest comfort and safety are an absolute priority and there will be no compromise on existing, high-quality standards.
