Rebranding today as Hotel Jen Upper East Beijing, Traders Hotel Upper East Beijing marks the first property in mainland China to adopt the new Hotel Jen brand by Shangri-La International Hotel Management Ltd.
Catering to a new “Jeneration” of independently minded business and leisure travellers, the brand is rolling out quickly in major cities in Asia Pacific.
The launch today in mainland China is a significant milestone and highlights Shangri-La’s long-term commitment to the China market.
The Hotel Jen brand is inspired by the virtual persona Jen, a professional hotelier who loves life, travel and the adventure of discovering new places.
Hotel Jen takes care of guests with efficiency and care while giving them informed access to the best a destination has to offer.
Hotel Jen provides travellers greater flexibility to blend the boundaries between business and leisure.
Mr. Greg Dogan, president and CEO of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, said: “The opening of Hotel Jen Upper East Beijing is extremely important for our organisation.
We’ve built a strong brand presence in China over the last 30 years and have been at the forefront of hotel expansion in China.
“We recognise the growth of Chinese travellers with a ‘millennial’ mind-set who seek simple pleasures, easy efficiencies and the opportunity to indulge their sense of adventure when travelling for leisure or business.
True to the new brand, the Hotel Jen Upper East Beijing team is embracing the changing demands of China’s more independently minded travellers and we are proud to introduce the Hotel Jen brand in key cities in China to meet the needs of our existing and new Chinese customers.”
Mr. Alan Ang, general manager of Hotel Jen Upper East Beijing, added: “The rebrand to Hotel Jen is really about changing our approach from the inside out.
I firmly believe that, to adapt to the changing needs of today’s ‘millennial-minded’ traveller, we need to evolve with them, starting at the very heart of our hotel – our staff. Our established team of loyal staff have spent the past few months embracing the Hotel Jen values: fun, friendly and fuss-free simplicity. It is the staff who underpin the whole rebranding.
“Hotel Jen Upper East Beijing will still bring guests the same level of quality as before, but now with a more intuitive service attitude and relaxed, friendly style.”
Hotel Jen Upper East Beijing, well positioned between the Third Embassy District, Wang Jing Hi-Tech Park and the Lido Commercial Centre, is clearly visible along the Airport Expressway and the 4th Ring Road as prominent terracotta twin towers amidst low-lying greenery and parks.
Close by is the fashionable 798 Art Zone, the Sanlitun entertainment district and the Olympic mega-structures, the Bird’s Nest and the Water Cube.
Panoramic views of Beijing’s dramatic skyline can be enjoyed from the lounge on level 26.
The hotel builds on its existing heritage and the staff’s local knowledge to deliver the new brand to guests.
An informed and friendly service style will allow guests to discover the best of where they are through unique recommendations, from cultural spots, local cuisines and new places to off-the-beaten-track locations.
An unparalleled local knowledge, reflective of the brand’s 25-year heritage, means the Hotel Jen team will be the guests’ own personal local lifestyle guide, making them truly feel like they are staying with a friend.
Embracing the concept of ‘staying with a friend’, guests will notice the extra touches on the in-room and restaurant dining options, which feature fresh local products selected for flavour, fusion and fun.
For added convenience, the hotel features a vending machine with beverage and snack items priced at convenience store levels and a ‘Grab&Go’ deli counter offering quick meal solutions.
Cutting-edge technology is also key to catering to the highly social, young-at-heart traveller.
Free WiFi everywhere, all the time, convenient mobile charging stations throughout the hotel and access to over 2,500 online publications through the PressReader app, replacing the traditional morning newspaper, are a few of the many features on offer at Hotel Jen Upper East Beijing.
In addition, simple pleasures, such as a laundry wash-and-fold service for unlimited items in the laundry bag at one price, complimentary fruit-infused waters and signature iced teas in summer and free coffee and snack-box-to-go options after breakfast allow guests to get on with the things they care about most – life, travel and discovery.
Guest comfort and safety are an absolute priority and there will be no compromise on existing, high-quality standards.
In the next phase of the hotel roll-out, Traders Hotel, Shenyang will rebrand to Hotel Jen on March 28th 2015 and Traders Hotel, Puteri Harbour, Johor, Bahru will rebrand to Hotel Jen on April 1st 2015.
Hotel Jen development projects are under consideration in key gateway cities in Asia Pacific, with plans to expand globally in the future.
