Chandresh Sharma, Trinidad & Tobago’s tourism minister has resigned as police investigate assault allegations made against him by his ex-girlfriend. He is accused of physically assaulting the woman in a shopping mall’s parking lot on March 12.
Sacha Singh, accuser says that Sharma pushed her during an argument and she also claims that she suffered a mild concussion after hitting her head on a parked car.
Sharma’s resignation comes a week after the minister of people and social development was fired for behaving violently toward a flight attendant.
