More than 30 people were injured in a Airbus A330-200 Etihad Airways flight from Abu Dhabi to Jakarta that met with unexpected turbulence while flying into Indonesia.
The plane was just 45 minutes away from Jakarta when it was hit with turbulence. 10 people were taken to hospital when the plane landed.
Passengers were terrified inside when the plane shook and they cried and shouted as seen in the CCTV footage inside the plane.
Passengers were made to wear oxygen masks. The cabin luggage was damaged according to a statement of the United Arab Emirates’ national airline.
Details of the injury are not known yet but nine passengers and a crew member were taken to the hospital. The other was treated by airport paramedics. Etihad has issued a statement saying that all passengers were being provided with accommodation and the return flight was cancelled. The plane is being inspected by the Airport and Indonesian National Transportation Safety Committee.
