VIP Event Organisers Tour Newcastle, Hunter Valley and Port Stephens

unnamed4-300x198A group of conference and event organisers from around Australia will tour Newcastle, Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley this week as part of a major campaign by Altogether Perfect to showcase the three areas as the leading business event destination in New South Wales.

Wineries, gourmet cuisine, a garden party, helicopters, sand dune quad bikes, cruising, stand up paddleboarding and a sunset dinner at historic Fort Scratchley feature on the full, three-day itinerary from Thursday, October 16 to Saturday, October 18, 2014.
 

The 22-strong VIP group includes event managers from associations, conference and incentive companies and tertiary institutions from NSW, Queensland and the ACT.
The familiarisation tour has been organised by the new Altogether Perfect campaign comprising the Newcastle Convention Bureau, Destination Port Stephens and Hunter Valley Wine and Tourism Association.
 

Altogether Perfect spokesperson, Rebecca Morley – Meetings, Incentive, Conference and Events Manager for Destination Port Stephens – said the itinerary was developed to showcase the region’s city, coast and country appeal to group event organisers.

 
“This annual familiarisation tour is one of Altogether Perfect’s most important events and it’s also one of the most effective ways we have of showing the high-yield events industry what Newcastle, Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley have to offer to business organisers and delegates,” Ms Morley said. “By experiencing unique activities in individual destinations within such close proximity to each other, guests on this tour can see for themselves why our combined regions are altogether perfect for major events,” she said.

 
In the Hunter Valley, the itinerary includes Bimbadgen, Chateau Elan, Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, Cypress Lakes Resort, Tuscany Wine Estate, the Hunter Valley Resort and Peterson House. The Newcastle portion of the tour showcases the Wests Convention Centre, Civic Precinct, a garden party in King Edward Park, Newcastle Baths, Fort Scratchley Barracks, the Newcastle Jockey Club, Novotel Newcastle Beach, Noah’s on the Beach, Crowne Plaza Newcastle, Quest Serviced Apartments, The Executive Inn and Apollo International Hotel .
 
In Port Stephens, the VIP guests will experience Quad Bike King on the biggest sand dunes in Australia, a scenic helicopter flight with Skyline Aviation, Medowie Macadamia Café, boardwalk dining at The Anchorage, Moonshadow Cruises and Ramada Resort, Shoal Bay.

 
Launched this year, the $270,000 ‘Altogether Perfect’ campaign is the name for the collaborative marketing efforts undertaken by regional partners in the Hunter Region to attract and secure business events tourism. Backed by Newcastle Convention Bureau, Hunter Valley Wine & Tourism Association and Destination Port Stephens and supported by dynamic industry operators, the joint marketing group attends trade fairs and sales missions and host visits to the region by key conference organisers and media to build the appeal of the Hunter region as a premier business tourism destination. The campaign received funding through the Regional Visitor Economy Fund (RVEF) which is managed and administered by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency,
