Virgin America today reported its preliminary operational results for October and October year-to-date. The airline’s October 2013 traffic (revenue passenger miles) rose 1.9 percent on capacity (available seat miles) that was 2.2 percent higher than in October 2012.
Load factor in October was 80.7 percent, a 0.3 percent decrease from the same month a year prior. The number of onboard passengers rose 7 percent compared with October 2012.Virgin America estimates its October 2013 passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) to have increased by approximately 4.5 percent, compared with October 2012.
