After featuring in an adventure tourism game show, Wanaka is set to be exposed to millions of international viewers. The show, hosted by the World’s Greatest Motorcycle Rides presenter Henry Cole and Total Wipeout presenter Amanda Byram, would be broadcasted across a global network of over 130 territories including UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific by mid-next year.
The Travel Channel show, RV Rampage, follows five couples from Russia, South Africa, Thailand and United Kingdom, as they visit 10 New Zealand locations and face cultural, physical and mental challenges. The programme highlighted what was “a common thing for people to do” when they were visiting New Zealand, taking it in it while travelling in an
RV. With a bit of added adventure to the mix.
Tourism New Zealand assisted the show’s producers, keen to maximize the exposure of the country as a tourism destination.
Tourism New Zealand general manager of international public relations Catherine Bates said “It’s a real coup that New Zealand has been chosen as the filming destination for this new series, which will showcase its breadth and beauty to a global audience.”
