Newport Coast resident and artist N. C. Swan will have a selection of her watercolors on exhibit July 16 through August 14, 2014, in the Thomas F. Riley Terminal as part of John Wayne Airport’s Community Focus Space Program. Swan’s work can be seen on the Departure (upper) Level near the security screening areas in Terminals A, B and C and on the Arrival (lower) Level adjacent to Baggage Carousels 1 and 4.
Swan has been documenting the rapidly changing landmarks of our coastal history in copperplate etchings, watercolors and ink drawings for the past 40 years.
“Orange County has evolved, and I have grown with it. My artwork has morphed along with the shifting landscape, absorbing the color,” stated Swan.
Swan is a fifth generation Californian who has been painting the world around her since childhood. Her award-winning artwork has been exhibited at shows and galleries throughout Southern California and has become a cherished part of international collections. Swan is a board member of the National Watercolor Society, editor of their world-wide newsletter and past member of the American Watercolor Society.
