Four Seasons Hotel Boston continues its charitable efforts with its 27th annual Run of Hope, a 5K run and 2K walk held on Sunday, September 7, 2014, along the beautiful Charles River Esplanade.
Benefitting the extraordinary work of the MassGeneral Hospital for Children’s Pediatric Hematology-Oncology unit for the 11th year, the event includes one-of-a-kind raffle prizes, a gourmet pancake breakfast, kid’s activities and a special appearance by WCVB-TV Chronicle host Shayna Seymour, the event’s emcee.
“We’re delighted to have hosted this annual event for nearly 30 years, and are proud to support the important work done by Dr. Howard Weinstein and his remarkable team at MassGeneral Hospital for Children’s Pediatric Hematology-Oncology program,” says Bill Taylor, Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Boston. “We’re thrilled to welcome back WCVB-TV’s Shayna Seymour as our emcee for this year’s event, as we once again shine a light on efforts to bring an end to cancer, right here, at home, in Boston.”
According to Dr. Weinstein, Chief of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the MassGeneral Hospital for Children, the Run of Hope brings people with a shared goal together for a fun and important event. “We are grateful to our partner, Bill Taylor and Four Seasons Hotel Boston and to the hundreds of participants who commit their time and energies to the fight against cancer. The funds raised make a difference that is real and measurable to the many families in our care,” says Dr. Weinstein.
The 2014 Run of Hope begins on Sunday, September 7, 2014, with registration at 8:30 am in the lagoon area near the Fiedler Bridge at the Charles River Esplanade. The event kicks off at 10:00 am with a Children’s 50-yard Fun Run, followed by the 5K Run and 2K Walk at 10:30 am. Before, during and after the event, participants will enjoy games, premium raffle prizes, a pancake breakfast prepared by Four Seasons Hotel Boston Chefs, plus an Awards Ceremony hosted by Shayna Seymour honouring the top runners and fundraisers. Top fundraisers will receive trips to leading Four Seasons properties worldwide, including airfare.
