Published on : Wednesday, August 27, 2014

Wild-AdventuresOn October 6, nearly 700 delegates from around the globe will enter Killarney, Ireland to begin the sold-out Adventure Travel World Summit (ATWS).

Over 150 of those delegates, international tour operators and media, will be coming back from intense adventure experiences across Ireland’s wild landscape, while the other 500 delegates will get ready to experience one of 30 Day of Adventure options that will give them a taste of Ireland’s adventure offerings.

From a “prison escape” to a gourmet adventure or a road-biking tour to a kayaking, hiking, rappelling experience, the adventures will each introduce a new concept of an Ireland that delivers not only its welcoming people and stories but its rich history, wild landscape, multi-faceted adventures, top-notch cuisine and a bevy of spirits.

Delegates will then be welcomed to the Summit by Ireland on the evening of October 6th before destinations around the globe introduce their regions during engaging Summit lunches, dinners and cocktails from Tuesday October 7th to the 9th.

Long time sponsors of the Summit return again including Chile, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico and Innovation Norway/Fjord Norway while Snowmass returns after supporting the ATWS for the first time in 2013.

Colombia, a first-time sponsor, will bring coffee from the region of Quindío for the delegates to enjoy during networking breaks.

All delegates will get a chance to recharge physically and technologically at the Switzerland Energy Lounge and Tour de Suisse and the 50+ international media and attending VIP at the Lucerne Tourism Media Lounge where they can write, correspond and interview.

Fjord Norway will entertain as well as provide an intimate networking space under Helly Hansen tents outside the conference venue.

The popular MediaConnect session returns in 2014, sponsored by Bulgaria, where tour operators and destination have the opportunity for one-on-one speed networking with targeted media contacts.

The ATTA will utilize multi-media provider ISEBOX during the Summit to share videos, photos and information through a rich digital media platform with media and delegates.

The ATWS Storytelling team sponsored by Ireland and ExOfficio will capture delegates adventures around Ireland via videography and photography as well as the inspirational Summit keynote sessions and networking opportunities.

These photos and videos will be shared as a way to help capture the adventure activities, spirit of the Summit networking and learnings from the Summit.

Outdoor and gear brands such as Columbia – the official outfitter of the Summit – as well as Eagle Creek will show off their wares through giveaways and outfitting of VIPs, media and ATTA team.

The ATTA’s Summit conference engages and energizes the leaders of the adventure travel community with networking, business and professional development programs, educational seminars and adventure destination product review opportunities.

In addition to featured inspirational presentations, a cadre of experts will deliver content tracks over the course of the Summit including forums allowing for group discussions along with experts and ATTA’s hallmark MediaConnect event.
