download12While 2014 marks the tournament’s 25th anniversary, The Omega Dubai Desert Classic has everyone talking about the big names of the game and their thoughts about the ‘Desert Miracle’ at the Majlis course. Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy have recently confirmed participation this time around after skipping last year’s tournament.

Tiger Woods recently said he has “really good memories” of playing the tournament. He also complimented the Emirates Golf Course mentioning “They have an outstanding field all the time, and the golf course (Majlis) is really in great shape”. For Rory McIlroy, this was where he scored his first professional victory at the age of 19. He added, “It will be fun to be part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of the tournament. Obviously I will be looking to win the event again.”

The $2.5 million European PGA event is scheduled to run from Jan. 30 to Feb. 2. After a thrilling night of voting this past Tuesday in Paris, Dubai has won the right to host the World Expo 2020. This has added more reason for tourists and fans worldwide to join the action of the tournament, and to witness the top players tee-off in this popular and rapidly growing metropolitan of the Gulf.
