‘This is how the Grand Duke lived. The forgotten empire furniture of the Würzburg Residence Palace’ is the title of an exhibition at the UNESCO World Heritage Residenz Palace and Court Gardens from 12 April to 31 December 2014.
The era of the Grand Duchy of Würzburg came to an end 200 years ago when Würzburg became part of the Kingdom of Bavaria.
Some of the most important furniture collections from this time have been restored to their former glory and are on display for visitors to admire.
The Court Gardens are a sight to behold as well, particularly in spring and summer when they are full of beautiful plants and flowers.
