This is the first time Wyndham Worldwide has been included on the magazine’s ranking of corporate responsibility performance of major U.S. companies, and is the only hospitality company on the list.
The 100 Best Corporate Citizens list documents 298 data points of disclosure and performance measures—harvested from publicly available information in several key categories, including leadership and achievements in climate and environmental responsibility, employee engagement and diversity, and strong governance policies and practices. The list ranks the Russell 1000 Index.
“Our inclusion on CR Magazine’s 100 Best Corporate Citizen’s List is a reflection of our commitment to our core values, which enable us to consistently deliver great results,” said Stephen P. Holmes, chairman and chief executive officer, Wyndham Worldwide. “Through our concentrated corporate social responsibility efforts, which span across all of our business units, we continue to see a positive global impact CSR has on our operating performance and value created for our shareholders.”
Wyndham Worldwide has worked to integrate its associates, business and communities in all that it does. Focusing on investing in its people, culture, and increasing value to shareholders, Wyndham Worldwide has grown into the market leader in each of its business segments, and into the single best performing stock on the NYSE since the economic downturn in 2008. Today, the Company is consistently named among the industry’s best places to work, earning continued recognition as a global leader in such areas as sustainability, diversity, workplace experience and human rights.
The Company has been recognized by DiversityInc as a Top 50 Company for Diversity, named one of FORTUNE Magazine’s Most Admired Companies, named to the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index for the first time, and was recognized as a 2014 Silver Class Sustainability Leader in RobecoSAM’s annual Sustainability Yearbook, and a recipient of the National Business Group on Health Award for Innovation in Reducing Health Care Disparities in 2011. Additionally, the Company was named among the Top 50 Companies by LATINA Style and was recognized by NAFE (National Association for Female Executives) as one of the Top 50 Companies for Executive Women.
“Acting with integrity and providing a great experience for our customers, associates and our communities is at the heart of everything we do at Wyndham Worldwide,” said Mary Falvey, executive vice president and chief human resources officer, Wyndham Worldwide. “Believing that we can do well by doing good, we are focused on making lasting contributions to the communities where we live and work, while making sure we are aligning with responsible business practices.”
