GetThere and ComBTAS collaborates for improved travel budget management

sabreSabre Travel Network has announced the integration of its corporate travel reservation system GetThere with travel management and expenses system ComBTAS.

The firms said the combined offering gives corporate customers enhanced ability to control spend before bookings are made through ComBTAS’ pre-trip enforcement capabilities.

ComBTAS’s Budget Matrix holds all relevant travel budget data for an organisation and every cost added to a trip is subtracted from the matrix, allowing approvers to view a running budget total when approving business travel.

Travellers can shop and book online and easily submit their expense reports. Within the tool the travel managers can analyse online, offline and expense report information, giving them a comprehensive database of all travel spend.

Paul Wiley, GetThere’s chief product and strategy officer, said: “This GetThere and ComBTAS combination is a powerful solution for our corporate customers.

“It gives corporations a powerful tool with which to monitor spend and travel behavior by being able to see the impact of the cost of the requested trip on the travel budget in real time, thus keeping a constant close eye on overall travel spend.”

Avi Krudo, chief executive of ComBTAS, added: “The technology is also extremely flexible and implements in just a few weeks, providing travel managers with a tool that will function with any travel management company (TMC), global distribution system (GDS), corporate card, or currency exchange provider.”
