CapitaLand’s wholly-owned serviced residence business unit, The Ascott Limited’s serviced residences and hotel in Thailand will participate in Earth Hour 2014 by switching off the facade and non-essential lighting throughout the night from 8.30 pm (local time).
It is the eight consecutive year that Ascott’s properties in Thailand have been taking part in sustainable development and environmental protection activities.
In addition to shutting down selected lights, The Ascott Limited will further demonstrate its commitment to the environment by providing guests and staff information by displaying posters in conspicuous places including main lobby and key areas of the properties.
Mr Jean Keijdener, Ascott’s Country General Manager for Thailand, said “Earth Hour will represent a powerful message to encourage more organisations to unite together as one to combat climate change globally and build a greener future.
We also encourage our staff, residents and tenants to switch off unnecessary lights in their workspace and apartments, not only during the Earth Hour but all the times throughout the year.”
