Jumeirah-Group-My-Dubai-Burj-Al-Arab-heroToday, Burj Al Arab, the world’s most luxurious hotel, announced a year-long commitment to the recently launched #MyDubai initiative. The hotel will support #MyDubai by projecting the winning images on its globally recognised sail on the last Thursday of every month.

Initiated by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, #MyDubai project invites residents and visitors to join in and create “the world’s first autobiography of a city”. By submitting images and videos of the compelling moments of their lives and using the hashtag #MyDubai, the participants contribute to demonstrating the unique identity and true culture of the city.

Heinrich Morio, Burj Al Arab’s General Manager, commented: “We are pleased to join the #MyDubai initiative and increase the awareness of this community engagement platform by exhibiting a selection of the images contributed so far on Burj Al Arab’s sail.”

#MyDubai was launched on 5 January 2014 at Burj Al Arab. It has had an overwhelming response that has led to the creation of an online museum showcasing the lives of the Emirate’s residents and visitors. On @MyDubai, the submissions have already reached over a quarter of a million posts, whereas the number of Twitter mentions reached nearly 50,000.
