confexInternational Confex 2014 opens its doors on 12 March at Olympia London.

The UK event industry’s leading exhibition will see government, celebrities, inspirational business leaders, high profile event buyers and the very best industry brands, all represented under one roof for two intensive days of business and networking.

“International Confex will once again be the focal point of the events industry, something we set out to do from the first day we took on the show,” says Event Director Donna Bushell.

“We said we wanted to give the show back to the industry and it has already taken on a look and feel that we hope will make this industry proud.”

The comprehensive conference programme will see Nick de Bois MP officially open the show, followed by an industry inclusive debate on the response to the All Party Parliamentary Group Inquiry launched last year.

HBAA chair Chris Parnham will be joining a panel with Dale Parmenter from Eventia and Karim Halwagi from Association of Event Organisers (AEO) for a session entitled The Future Vision of Associations.

The exciting session will take place on Thursday at 4:30pm in the Future Theatre.

Vice chair Jacqui Kavanagh will be talking on Wednesday in the Insight Theatre at 4pm. Her session will focus on ‘Working Smarter with the UK Agency market’.

HBAA Events Committee Chair Louise Goalen will also be leading a session on ‘Choosing Your Venues’. A two part discussion on why ‘flexibility’ needs to be top of the agenda for venues to survive the harsh realities of the meetings industry and the venue finding health check.

Visitors can expect a host of new product launches for the events industry taking place throughout the event.

“There is so much going on this year, and we’re encouraging visitors to stay as long as they can, take time with our exhibitors to get the products and services they require, and then to learn from industry leaders in our purpose-built theatres,” adds Bushell.

“There is going to be a brilliant feel to the show this year; it’s going to be productive and enjoyable? just like every good event.”
