Modhesh World, one of the most popular family edutainment destinations in the region, will celebrate its milestone 15th edition this year with a line-up of family fun featuring internationally renowned entertainment characters and a wide array of interactive and themed experiences designed to give families and children their most memorable summer holidays in Dubai.
Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), and the organisers of Modhesh World, is partnering with top international character licensors – Rovio, Sanrio and Hasbro – to bring some of the world’s most popular family entertainment concepts to Modhesh World, including the World Premieres of interactive experiences featuring the global phenomenon Angry Birds Universe and the action heroes from the science fiction hit, Transformers.
Modhesh World 2014 will open in phases from tomorrow (Thursday, 12 June) at the Dubai World Trade Centre and will run until 8 September.
From Thursday 12 June, children, pre-teens and teenagers can enjoy all the fun of the fair, with rides such as Carousel, Chair-O-Plane and Crazy Wave – as well as kiddie bungee jumping, bouncy castle-type inflatables, and arcade and video games. Visitors can also learn more about Emirati culture and traditions at the Heritage Zone.
The following week, from Thursday, 19 June, Modhesh World will open up further to fun activities for all ages, such as the WWE non-contact wrestling experience, Hello Kitty & Friends around the World, the Lego/Duplo Zone, the Laser Quest laser- tag game, the ice-themed Winter Wonderland and Little Stars, a zone sponsored by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority to help children develop motor skills and learn a number of sports.
Then, in celebration of the Eid festivities, Modhesh World will host the World Premieres of interactive experiences featuring the Angry Birds Universe and the Transformers.
The opening of Modhesh World will simultaneously launch DFRE’s annual summer calendar to further enhance Dubai’s position as a year-round family tourism destination. In addition to Modhesh World, the other key summer festivals and special occasions organised by DFRE are Ramadan in Dubai from29 June to 27 July, showcasing Islamic culture, Emirati traditions and hospitality; Eid in Dubai from 28 July to 1 August, a grand celebration of the Eid Al Fitr festival that will involve people from all communities, and the iconic family summer extravaganza, Dubai Summer Surprises from 2 August to 5 September, which will take Dubai’s summer season to a new high.

Modhesh World is gearing up to offer children, as well as their parents, an unforgettable time through numerous experiences, attractions and activities spread across several zones including a wide array of games, contests, rides, shows, adventure-oriented activities, and much more.
Established in the year 2000, Modhesh World has become one of the much looked forward to summer attractions of Dubai, attracting over 500,000 visitors every year. Modhesh World 2014 will be open from 10am to 10pm Sunday to Wednesday, from 10am to midnight on Thursdays and Saturdays and from 3pm to midnight on Fridays. The timings during Ramadan will be 12noon to 2am on all days except Fridays, when it will be 5pm to 2am. The three days of Eid Al Fitr will see Modhesh World stay open from 10am till midnight.
