Louis D’Offay and his son Lucas, the Managing Director and Managers of the beach side property made time to showoff their environment friendly approaches to Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture when he was on his hotel and guesthouse ‘door to door’ visits on Praslin last week.
Minister St.Ange was being accompanied for his visit at L’Archipel Hotel by Sherin Naiken, the CEO of the Tourism Board and by her Deputy CEO Nathalie Didon and by members of the New Bureau of the Tourism Board.
The L’Archipel Hotel ‘Goes Green’ approach the Minister was informed came after two years of research and planning.The beach side property on Anse Gouvernement at Cote D’Or has now implemented numerous renewable energy solutions with a positive impact to the environment and improving guest effort. The project at L’Archipel Hotel has been passionately driven by Louis D’Offay with the undivided support from his Team and PACE Seychelles who audited the energy consumption at the property to prepare a short, medium and long term strategy for implementing green initiatives in Energy Management Systems (EMS), Solar Photovoltaic Panels, LED Lighting, Innu-Science Biotechnology Cleaning – Green Cleaning and Ozone Wash Cleaning.
“Today”, said Louis D’Offay “L’Archipel Hotel is reaping the economic benefits from the environment friendly approaches and this Praslin island hotel is doing its fair share for a greener Seychelles”.
Minister St.Ange said as he congratulated Louis and Lucas D’Offay that what was done at L’Archipel Hotel of Praslin needed to be encouraged everywhere on the islands. “Louis D’Offay of the L’Archipel Hotel has confirmed that his savings on his electricity bills because all the energy he was pumping into the Praslin Electricity Grid. He also said that his hotel guests were all not only supportive of his actions but were promoting his hotel through positive word-of-mouth referrals as one that was today an environmentally property” said Minister Alain St.Ange.
Seychelles prides itself as being a leader in conservation with more than 50% of its land territory declared protected national parks and it is actions such as what has been implemented at the L’Archipel Hotel at Cote D’Or on Praslin that will help consolidate the drive by the Government of the Island to be seen to be environmentally friendly.
