Published on : Saturday, June 21, 2014

sofitelIn its annual tradition of cultural appreciation, Sofitel Luxury Hotels will this year celebrate the ‘Fête de la Musique’ this year at many of its most magnifique destinations around the world.

Sofitel counts culture as one of its three core pillars, together with gastronomy and design, and some of Sofitel’s most iconic addresses will again this year take their own expressive approach to celebrating music in their hotels. In bustling metropolises from Paris to Marseille, New York to Shanghai, Dubai to Cairo and Bangkok to Buenos Aires, Sofitel hotels will honor and celebrate music on this special summer occasion.

The Fête de la Musique is an international music celebration taking place each June 21st in numerous cities and nearly all regions of the world. First established as a French national event in 1982, the Fête de la Musique is now an international phenomenon that encourages free concerts of all genres for public enjoyment, as well as musicians of all kinds – amateur or professional – to perform in the open.

Many of Sofitel’s hotels around the world have organized their own unique celebrations to acknowledge the day and to celebrate music, and will use the occasion to highlight Sofitel’s unique French art de vivre, tying French music and traditions, blended with their own cultural music traditions, to create a truly international fete.

“The Fête de la Musique has long been an anticipated milestone in the French and international social calendar, and it is a pleasure to see our hotels in France and mainly around the world take part in this global celebration of music,” noted Rick Harvey Lam, Senior Vice President, Global Marketing – Luxury & Upscale Brands Accor. “Particularly in this 2014 edition, which takes place during Sofitel’s 50th
anniversary year, this annual tradition reaffirms Sofitel’s ability to build bridges between French art de vivre, cultural initiatives and local customs.”
This June 21, 2014, Sofitel will take part in an inspiring music universe for the Fête de la Musique.
