Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe*, today announced that, for the first time in its history, it carried 15 million passengers over a 12 month period**.
This represents 17% year on year growth and, during the period, the airline achieved an average load factor of 86%.
At the same time Wizz Air celebrates the “Best Operational Excellence Award – Europe“ received from Airbus in recognition of the airline’s outstanding operational performance in 2012 and 2013.
John Stephenson, Executive Vice President of Wizz Air, said: “Our latest milestone of 15 million passengers carried over a 12 month period confirms the high demand for the travel opportunities our low fares bring to the 36 countries in which we operate.
We look forward to carrying ever more customers on one of our 341 routes to 102 destinations, as our fleet grows to 54 A320 aircraft by the end of 2014 and to satisfying the desire of our customers for a personalized travel experience with our wide range of additional services and products.”
