DISCOVER-HERBAL-FLAVOURS-300x168 (1)From red chili to purple basil, and French parsley to camomile, guests of Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita can now discover the subtle flavours, scents and complementary pairings of more than fifteen varieties of herbs, with the introduction of a new Resort Herb Garden.

The Herb Garden, which welcomes guests with a secluded seating area and tranquil water feature, is the latest addition to the Resort’s local food and beverage range, 50 Miles, and provides guests the opportunity to learn about the herbs’ growing conditions, methods of culinary preparation and suggested recipes.

Offering a peaceful escape amid the exotic Resort grounds, the Herb Garden allows guests to create their own herbal tea infusion by hand-picking their preferred flavours fresh from the plants during a private BBQ lunch with a Four Seasons chef, as the perfect way to soak in the surroundings and unearth the secrets of herbal seasoning.

“Fresh herbs are one of the key elements in creating rich and flavourful dishes. Subtle aromas and combinations can completely transform a dish’s taste, without dedicated efforts on behalf of the chef. Our aim is to introduce these simple practices to our guests, so that they may apply this knowledge to their own cooking at home,” comments Executive Chef Thierry Papillier.

Complementing the famous tea plantations of Mauritius, the Herb Garden allows guests to enjoy their choice of herbal infusion as part of a private BBQ lunch with a tailor-made menu and wine pairings. The BBQ lunch is available with 24 hours notice at a price of MUR 3,000 per person.
