Plane crashes with snow plough in Moscow Airport killing CEO of Total

Plane-crashes-CEO-of-Total-300x153A Plane crash at the Moscow’s Vnukovo international airport killed, Christophe de Margerie the CEO of Total, a French oil company. His private jet collided with the snow plough at the Moscow’s Vnukovo international airport killing three crew members along with the passenger.

The plane was preparing to take off to Paris with one passenger and three crew members on board. During the run-up there was collision with the airport’s snow plough. The passenger along with the crew members died due to the crash.

 

The airport authorities have said that the visibility was at 350 meters at the time of the accident. It was the first snowfall that Moscow had received in this year. A fire immediately broke out after the crash which was extinguished by the airport firefighters.
 
A criminal probe has been opened by the Moscow transport investigators on breach of safety rules causing multiple deaths through negligence. French authorities will also be a part of this probe.

 

The airport had to be closed temporarily to clear the scene of the accident before normal operations resumed at 1.30am.
