Pandaw River Cruises offers Indochina expeditions on 20th anniversary

PandawDiscounts of up to 25 per cent and the scrapping of single supplements are available on a large range of Pandaw River Cruises in Asia to mark the 20th birthday of the company as the first to offer river expeditions in Indochina.

 

The savings are available for new bookings made by January 31, 2015, with Active Travel –  Australia’s leading agent for Pandaw – and apply to a range of cruise departures from March, 2015, to March, 2016, on the Irrawaddy and Chindwin rivers in Burma, the Red River in Vietnam, the Mekong in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, and the Brahmaputra, Ganges and Hooghly rivers in India.

 

Examples of savings include:

 

* A seven-night Mekong River cruise between Saigon in Vietnam and Siem Reap in Cambodia is now priced from US$1942 (including a 25 per cent saving of US$647) per person for twin-share or solo traveller, with the single supplement waived. This fare is available for departures on October 3 and December 5 and 12, 2015. Book by January 31, 2015.

 

* A 14-night cruise from Rangoon to Mandalay on Burma’s Irrawaddy River on August 2, 2015, is now priced from US$4290 (including a 25 per cent saving of US$1430) per person for twin-share or solo traveller, with the single supplement waived. Book by January 31, 2015.

 

Dozens of other Pandaw departures have a 10 to 20 per cent discount and single supplement waiver.

 

Fares include onboard meals and local soft drinks, beer and spirits as well as crew gratuities and excursions ashore to local villages, markets and pagodas, with cold towels and cool drinks offered to passengers when they return aboard each day. Fare are subject to availability and conditions apply.

 

2015 is also the 150th anniversary of the Irrawaddy Flotilla Company which ran 650 commercial vessels on the rivers of Burma from 1865. The formation of Pandaw River Cruises in 1995, 20 years ago, revived the Irrawaddy Flotilla Company, with the line today boasting 12 modern, colonial-style river ships, hand finished in brass and teak by traditional craftsmen.
