Pony Rides In Paradise at Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, Malaysia

Published on : Wednesday, February 4, 2015

PONY-RIDES-IN-PARADISEHold onto your horses! Animal encounters at Four Seasons Resort Langkawi just got a whole lot more hands on.

Lucy and Lirra have taken up residence in their new on-site, sea-view stable suite, ready to take budding young jockeys and dressage dreamers on mini equestrian adventures. And not forgetting baby Star – who is too young to offer rides at the moment but loves being petted and pampered.

January 2015 saw the introduction of an exciting new Resort activity and Kids Club addition: daily horse or pony rides and Meet the Pony program.

With a choice of morning or afternoon sessions, kids and teens can choose from a 5- or 15-minute rope-guided session that follows either a garden trail or beach amble.

There’s also the daily Kids Club Meet the Pony program: a complimentary interactive activity that takes place at the breakfast beach area from 10:00 to 10:30 am.

An introduction to all things pony, eager equestrians can touch the animals and learn lots of interesting facts about them, such as their grass and carrot munching habits; how the saddle works; why ponies roll in the sand; how they “call” for one another; and specifics on local Malaysian ponies and their role working the rice paddy fields.

The newest additions to the Four Seasons Resort Langkawi team, 10-year-old Lucy, 5-year-old Lirra, and baby Star (born November 2014) hail from the nearby Langkawi Eco Fun Park. Kids of all ages can visit them at their new oceanfront stable-block suite, and get involved with their daily feeding, showering and grooming routines.

And, when they aren’t out for a ride or resting, the ponies can be found munching away on the grass at the green lawn near to Lotus Pond.

The Resort’s General Manager Alastair McAlpine comments, “We’re always striving to expand our adventure and activity offering. Aside from being fantastic fun, the kids pony rides are a great way for our younger guests to immerse themselves in nature, exploring our beautiful grounds and riding through the palm trees onto the beach.”

The guided pony rides are suitable for all abilities, from ages 3 to 18 years old. Lucy, Lirra and Star can also be also booked for private costume parties or birthday celebrations, as well as being available for chariot rides to mark special events such as a wedding.
