The Travel agents with Ms. Lubaina SheeraziSeychelles Tourism Board recently organized a familiarization trip for Mumbai travel agents.  The objective behind this trip was to create an understanding about the destination and establish relations for the Indian trade with the private sector in Seychelles.

Representatives from travel companies including Cox&Kings, Indiana Travels, Erawan Travels and Vacations Exotica were part of the trip.

Commenting about this initiative Ms. Sherin Naiken, CEO, Seychelles Tourism Board said,” We are seeing a steady increase in tourist arrivals from India. A major part of the credit can be attributed to our Indian travel trade partners for understanding the uniqueness of Seychelles islands and promoting the same to the traveller. We will continue to educate and support them through initiatives like FAM trips, trainings and roadshow. “

During the trip the agents explored 4 islands of Seychelles – Mahé, Praslin, La Digue and Curieuse.  Island hopping is the ideal way to explore Seychelles. The islands are located close to each other with regular boat and air services between the islands.
Mahe is the Main Island and gateway to Seychelles. It is home to the capital city Victoria, International airport, 90% population of the islands nation and boasts of more than 65 gorgeous uncrowded beaches. Here one can go for exciting excursions to the Victoria city, private gardens, Morne Seychellois National Park, Le Plane St. Andre rum distillery and Eden Island.

Praslin is famous for the UNESCO World Heritage Site – Vallée de Mai – and Anse Lazio, considered to be one of the world’s most beautiful beaches.  La Digue island is an almost-car free island, with its leafy, meandering avenues and sleepy, island ways. It is home to the world most photographed beach – Anse Source d’Argent and a rare endemic bird The Paradise Flycatcher.

Creole Travel Services hosted the group on their Robinson Crusoe excursion to the uninhabited island of Curieuse – a nature reserve and marine park in addition to supporting in arranging logistics and transfers. Mason’s travel and 7 Degrees also supported the tourism board for the same.
Ms. Lubaina Sheerazi, Head-Blue Square Consultants, Seychelles Tourist Office- India said,” The tour operators group who participated in the FAM trip loved the islands and are upbeat about its potential to become a sought after family, honeymoon, adventure, eco-tourism and wellness holiday destination for the Indians. They are impressed with the diverse islands, their gorgeous secluded beaches, rare flora&fauna, adrenaline pumping activities, delicious cuisine and friendly people. Seychelles is an unbelievably hassle free destination with visa on arrival and gratis and direct flight from Mumbai.”

The group enjoyed the warm hospitality of Constance Ephelia, Constance Lemuria, Savoy Resort&Spa, Banyan Tree and Four Seasons. The group also visited MAIA Luxury Resort & Spa, AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa, Crown Beach, Eden Bleu, Glacis Heights Villa, Double Tree by Hilton Seychelles-Allamanda Resort & Spa on Mahe Island.
