Chinese tourism condemned for pushing pigs in water

Published on : Wednesday, May 6, 2015

pigsThe world looks on appalled at the idea of fun displayed by a Chinese tourism board. They literally believed that pigs have wings and lined up the animals by painting numbers in bright colours on the animal’s side on a ramshackle bridge overhanging Shiyan Lake in the popular tourist provinces of Changsha.

The animals were pushed from the bridge into the water as part of a May Day celebrations and this cruel stunt has been widely criticised the world over particularly on social media.

Many wrote that it looked like the animals are not jumping by choice but are being pushed in to the water against their will. They looked scared and unwilling.

But the organisers are unaffected by such criticism and wish to make this event a weekly celebration. They claim that the piglets are specially trained to perform this task. Adding to it the authorities said that the animals are rewarded with food and once they get over their nerves they enjoy this game. Pigs like water and this is a sport that they enjoy.
